Overview
A major international airport terminal recognized for its iconic roof structure, complex façade systems, and response to the extreme climatic conditions of northern Russia. The project features a distinctive long-span roof inspired by the city’s historic architecture, combined with high-performance building envelope systems designed to withstand severe winter conditions while delivering a world-class passenger experience. The project received the 2014 IStructE Structural Award for Infrastructure or Transportation Structures. Shonn Mills, while at Ramboll Group, served as Project Director for the multi-disciplinary engineering team, leading the coordination and delivery of structural, MEP, façade, and specialist engineering disciplines throughout the design and execution of this landmark aviation development.
