Overview
The District has undergone a remarkable transformation from its origins as an industrial area, encompassing approximately 15 hectares of repurposed warehouses. The site now features a variety of facilities, including exhibition spaces, art galleries, and studios, positioning it as a significant player in the cultural landscape. The new masterplan focuses on enhancing infrastructure and expanding facilities within the district. Proposed improvements include increased parking capacity, dedicated event spaces, and the addition of hotels to accommodate visitors. The initiative aligns with broader goals to diversify the economy and elevate the area's cultural profile on the global stage, ensuring that the district remains a dynamic center for artistic innovation and public engagement. WWM is providing multidiscipline engineering services including engineering master planning, infrastructure, mobility, sustainability and smart technology for the project as art of the OMA team.
