Overview
CityLife is one of Europe’s largest urban regeneration developments, transforming Milan’s former fairground and exhibition district into a major mixed-use destination comprising commercial towers, residential buildings, retail, public realm, and extensive landscaped open space across approximately 37 hectares. The development features three landmark towers: Il Dritto (“The Straight One”) by Arata Isozaki, Lo Storto (“The Twisted One”) by Zaha Hadid, Il Curvo (“The Curved One”) by Daniel Libeskind Shonn Mills participated in the project while employed at Ramboll, working in collaboration with J&A Consultants (Milan). His involvement included project management, value engineering, multidisciplinary technical review, and Owner’s Engineer services across the initial three tower developments. Subsequently, Shonn Mills acted as Project Director for the international design competition and concept design phases of the CityWave development by BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group, including the integration of the signature catenary-shaped canopy structure linking the development’s commercial buildings and public realm spaces.
